Prevent
Drowning in Pools, Lakes and ... in Your Home.
- NEVER leave a baby or young child alone in a bathtub even
for a second, even and even if you are using a bath seat or
ring. There have been SEVERAL near drownings in OUR community
in the past few years.
- ALWAYS keep the toilet lid down, and keep young children
out of the bathroom when unsupervised. Also consider placing
a latch on the bathroom door out of reach of young children.(Toilets
are often overlooked as a drowning hazard in the home.)
- Be sure all containers that contain liquids are emptied immediately
after use. Do not leave empty containers in yards or around
the house where they may accumulate water and attract young
children. (Buckets, often used for household chores, pose a
serious threat to toddlers.)
- Childhood drowning deaths also occur in other containers that
may contain liquids, including coolers, sinks, fish tanks, landscape
ponds, spas and hot tubs.
- Learn CPR - it can be a lifesaver! Hatzalah of Crown heights
will be hosting a CPR course in the future. If you would like
